Nickname: Authorize a nickname to join streams on the server.
Channel: There are two types of authorization a channel gets to stream. The first is administratively where the admin of the server sets the channel up so it 'can' have a stream. The second is this command which must be issued to actually allow a stream to be pushed to a channel. This allows channel oeprators to start and stop streams inside a channel.
Example:
/stream deauth Rick
/stream auth #lobby
Channel operators can use this command if the channel is stream enabled (via an 'as chan' command). IRCops can use this to authorize users and users can use this to authorize themselves (Just because they authorize themselves doesn't mean that they'll get permission inside a channel to get a stream).
Nickname: Remove a users ability to get streams on the server.
Channel: Remove a channel's stream. If no stream is currently active this command shoud be used as it will tell the java client that there are no streams for the channel and in some themes the video window will not appear. In other themes an away message might be displayed. This all depends on the specific setup of your streaming server.
Example:
/stream deauth Rick
/stream deauth #lobby
IRCops can always use this command. Channel operators can use this command if the channel is stream enabled (via an 'as chan' command).
Set a particular person to feed a particular stream or add/remove a user's feed authroization.
Example:
/stream feed #lobby +Rick
/stream feed #event -Mark
Restricted to IRCops or channel operators.
Nickname: Get information about what streams a user is in.
Channel: Get information about a channel's stream and who is on it and feeding.
Example:
/stream info Rick
/stream info #lobby
This will greatly assist online personnel in managing channel and user streams.
Join a particular channel's stream (must be in channel)
Example:
/stream deauth Rick
If you're in the channel and authorized for streams, you can join the stream if there is one. Handy if you used the PART command to leave the stream.
Leave a stream without leaving the channel.
Example:
/stream part #lobby
If you're in the channel and in the stream, you can leave the stream by issuing this command. This is handy if you don't want to use the bandwidth that the stream requires while you're doing something else but don't want to leave the channel. You can always join the stream again by using the JOIN command.
